The Memory Quilt

Mending the world!

Grace shared a deep bond with her neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Davidson, especially their son, Jason. Grace and Jason spent some good time together playing, learning, and having fun. But the sudden demise of Jason devastated his parents, and they lost their smile. Deeply affected by the loss and the state of Jason’s parents, Grace vows to do something that can help them in their recovery process. What did Grace do?

We picked this book for its title. The book tells the story of two children, the beautiful bond they share, and the healing journey one child embarks on after losing the other. If you are a caretaker or a parent who chooses not to address certain events with your children, please note that this book discusses the death of a friend. The illustrations work well for the storyline.

The Memory Quilt by Lori Keating, illustrated by Alyssa Grizenko, tells a touching story about the loss of a child and the child's friend’s efforts to support grieving parents.
