The magical string!
On a cold winter night, Momofuku Ando was on his way home when he saw a long line of hungry and poor people waiting to get their ration of hot ramen. This was during the period immediately after World War II when Japan was still recovering from its effects. Ando felt a sense of compassion for these people and wondered if there was something he could do to keep them happy without having to wait in long queues. However, he got so busy with his personal ventures he forgot about the poor people he had seen that night. But years later, something magical happened - he remembered those poor people again.
