We Are Water Protectors

Pass it on to generations.

The tribal deal with nature with respect and gratitude and pass on that trait to their young. Likewise, a grandmother passes on an essential lesson about protecting water to her grandchild. She talks about the role of water in daily life. And she states that water is sacred and that they should stand together to protect it. The little girl also talks about how her people spoke about a black snake that would destroy the land. The black snake spoils the water, the ground, and the earth. They encourage her to fight the black snake and stand for water.

We picked this book based on a recommendation. The book has beautiful illustrations that capture the essence of the message. Water protection is inevitable, and we must educate children about it. Though the message is powerful and timely, not sure if it will be easy for a child to comprehend.

We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom is a beautifully illustrated book with a vital message on water protection.
