Discovering the unknown.
Outside of Earth, Mars has always captivated the human imagination from the very beginning of space exploration. Planet Red gave us a lot of fiction and hope that another planet has water. As a result, humans have attempted to uncover the secrets of Mars. One such successful attempt by NASA was in the 2000s when it sent two rovers - Opportunity and Spirit. 'Opportunity' gave the world over 200,000 images in 14-odd years until a dust storm wiped its solar panels out.
We picked this book for its theme. The book recounts the story of 'Opportunity'. This rover survived longer than expected and helped humans uncover many aspects of Mars, including the evidence of water's presence once. The book covers many details with pictures that may help readers better understand the red planet and the rover's role. Young children will require adult help to read and understand the book.
