Alex and the Spooky Night Noises
Is that ... aargh!
Alex tried to sleep in his bed one night. However, some strange noises continued to disturb him. He first heard a shrieking noise and figured it was a witch. However, it turned out to be a bat. Then he heard a scratching noise on his windows as if a bear was breaking through the glass with his sharp claws. However, it turned out to be a tree branch. Then he saw what he thought was a tiger. What happened to Alex, by the way?
We picked this book for its title. The story is about a youngster who had a terrifying night and how he overcame his fear to get a decent night's sleep. However, the story ends with an unexpected twist. The illustrations complement the story nicely.
